The anti reverse device of the bucket elevator is located on the shaft of the drive mechanism of the bucket elevator, and a anti reverse device is installed every time to prevent the reverse operation of the hopper belt. The reason for the reverse operation of the bucket elevator is mainly due to sudden power outages or other obstacles, which cause the driving wheels of the elevator to lose circumferential force. The load-bearing branch containing materials can freely descend due to its larger self weight than the unloaded branch.

At this time, if the bucket elevator has a high specific force or high productivity, it will cause severe blockage of the elevator, damage to the hopper, and tearing of the hopper belt, resulting in greater difficulties in reproducing production. This phenomenon of free reverse operation can also occur on inclined tape conveyors and plate conveyors

After installing the anti reverse device, it can prevent the reverse operation of the lifting machine, tape conveyor, and plate conveyor. The principle and structural differences of the credential check device usually include three types: ratchet check, roller check, and friction check. Due to the unreliability of friction check devices, they are rarely used. There is another type of rubber belt check device specifically used on tape conveyors. The working principles of ratchet and roller anti reverse devices are introduced as follows:

Ratchet anti reverse device is composed of a ratchet wheel and a pawl. The position of the supporting gear is the difference between the external gear and the internal gear, which is divided into external meshing ratchet check and internal meshing ratchet check. When the ratchet rotates along the upward direction of the load, the pawl is embedded in the teeth of the ratchet due to its own weight or relying on the action of the spring, restraining the reverse rotation of the ratchet.

The roller backstop is a cast iron casing with a steel ring inside. Inside the steel ring, there is a disc mounted on the drive shaft that can rotate approximately relative to the steel ring. There are several curved grooves on the disc, each groove containing a roller. When the shaft rotates counterclockwise, the frictional force generated by the disc on the cylinder causes it to rotate clockwise. The roller presses the spring in the spring seat, and the roller rotates freely within the wide end of the groove. If the shaft rotates in the opposite direction, the disc will generate reverse friction against the cylinder, and with the help of the spring, the cylinder will rotate counterclockwise and roll towards the narrow end of the groove. Therefore, the rotation of the disc will be wedged by the rollers, and the hopper of the bucket elevator will be in a braking state.
