1. Prospects for the development of belt conveyors
1) Long distance transportation;
Long distance transportation is still one of the development directions of belt conveyors. Currently, Australia is planning a single 23.5km belt conveyor, and discussions are underway on a 30-40 km long belt conveyor.
2) Low resistance conveyor belt;
The conveyor belt manufacturer has announced the use of low resistance rubber, which is said to save 10-15% of power.
3) Improve equipment and anti deviation measures;
By implementing improved devices and anti deviation measures, significant transmission efficiency can be achieved.
4) Select central drive;
The adoption of central drive (which can redistribute power) on belt conveyors used in underground coal mines and tunnel excavations can achieve good results.
5) Large capacity transportation;
To complete large-scale transportation, in addition to selecting a large bandwidth, it will also lead to an increase in belt speed, requiring very good device accuracy and higher processing accuracy, as well as understanding of cathode force and power. In Germany, the RWE Braun mine uses a belt conveyor with a transport capacity of 30000 T/H, and other coal mines are also considering using it.
6) Choose advanced analytical methods;
Every time the belt conveyor is developed, we use new analytical tools or methods to guess the performance of the system. Digital analysis and simulation are useful methods.
2. Long distance curved belt conveyor system
Belt conveyor is a transportation machinery that uses a conveyor belt as a load-bearing and traction component. It is widely used and is particularly suitable for long-distance (several kilometers to tens of kilometers) transportation of goods compared to other transportation methods such as cars, trains, and ships. Its advantages are: it can transport a variety of goods, adapt to rough and changing terrain changes, and can integrate into the surrounding environment. It has high transportation capacity, low operating costs (without considering significant changes in oil prices), low noise, low dust (reduced by 98% compared to car transportation), long service life (up to more than 20 years), labor savings, and less work. Now, the longest single belt conveyor in the world is over 19KM, with a maximum transport capacity of over 9000T/H and a maximum bandwidth of over 3.2M.
By organically linking planning methods with mature components, it is possible to plan long-distance belt conveyors that require less investment, energy efficiency, and meet the needs. Four aspects should be considered: energy conservation, line optimization, power allocation, dynamic analysis, and simulation.
