The inspection of bearings mainly includes the following points:

1) Quality of bearings

During the period of bearing box collapse, the first step is to check whether the lubricating grease has deteriorated, clumped, impurities and other adverse conditions, which is an important basis for determining the elements of bearing damage. Secondly, check whether the bearings are bitten or worn; Check the surface smoothness of the inner and outer rings, rolling bodies, and retaining frames of the bearing, as well as whether there are cracks, rust, peeling, pits, overheating discoloration, and other defects, and measure whether the bearing clearance exceeds the limit; Check for wear, dents, and peeling on the shaft sleeve. If any of the above conditions are present, replace the bearing with a new one.

2) Cooperation on bearings

The cooperation between the inner diameter of the bearing and the shaft, as well as the outer diameter and the outer shell, is very important in the bearing device. When the cooperation is too loose, the cooperative surface will experience relative sliding, which is called creep. Once creep occurs, it will damage the wear joint surface, the shaft or housing, and the wear powder will invade the interior of the bearing, causing heating, oscillation, and damage. When the interference fit is too large, it will cause the outer diameter of the outer ring to decrease or the inner diameter of the inner ring to increase, reducing the internal clearance of the bearing. To select a suitable cooperation, it is necessary to consider various factors such as the nature, size, temperature conditions, and rotation of the inner and outer rings of the bearing load.

3) Adjustment of cooperation gaps between various parts of bearings

When the clearance between the bearings is too small, the loss of oil in the clearance due to shear force conflicts can also cause the bearings to heat up. Additionally, when the clearance is too small, the amount of oil will decrease and there will be no time to remove the heat generated by the conflicts, which will further increase the temperature rise of the bearings. However, excessive clearance can alter the dynamic characteristics of the bearing, leading to unstable rotor operation. Therefore, it is necessary to select verified bearing clearances for different equipment and usage conditions.
